All that is required to be a Pharmacy Technician is a HS diploma/GED and a clean criminal record. That’s it. Apply at retail drugstores or supermarket pharmacies.
Google “[your state] board of pharmacy” for more info.

GED/HS diploma. but hours can be hard and working and going to college will be diffcult b/c most pharmacy techs work full time open to close

Job requirements vary from state to state. Consult with your local State Board of Pharmacy for job requirements and any certification requirements. The following link contains a list of Boards of Pharmacy in every state and then some with their web sites and contact information.&
We are a national Pharmacy Technician organization, and we offer classes to help people in their careers as pharmacy technicians. If you’re interested in learning more, consult our web site:. We may also be able to answer any additional questions you may have about being a pharmacy technician.
Best of luck with the job.

From my knowledge all you need for the job is to be a high school grad and pass the background check and drug test. I know that most people just say to apply on the company website for a job but when I wanted to get a job as a pharmacy tech about 2 years ago I actually talked to the pharmacy manager first and then after talking to her in person she told me to apply and I got the job. Most pharmacies need good and reliable people to work so it might help to be a little bit old fashion and try to just talk first because applications don’t always allow you to stand out. Hope that helps! Good luck
