Volunteering in Arusha X-Ray Clinic in Tanzania
To provide health services in the form of medical imaging X-ray, ultrasound and electrocardiography. They diagnostic laboratory services, outpatient dispensary drugs, education and advisory services, diagnostic services other medical institutions, as well as a clinic in a rural area Marangu, Kilimanjaro.
Volunteers can help by doing the following tasks:
Radiation experienced volunteers are able to help out directly by the diagnosis and examining patients and with enough experience to teach and improve practices the clinic. The volunteers with less experience will still have a rewarding experience. The biggest help you could provide would be to help computerize all the records and registration systems. Volunteers will still be able to learn techniques of examination and diagnosis of patients first hand with the doctor if they have experience. Other tasks that may be requested to preform outside of the basic functions work in the rural clinic near Kilimanjaro and helping to improve the system there. Test reading and writing proposals and brochures to help raise funds and equipment for the clinic.
Volunteers with the following specific skills are preferred for this position:
Student Doctor Nurse Emergency Medical Technician Pre-Med Students Medical health standard first aid and HIV Health Education / AIDS Training of Public Health Medical Physiotherapy Management Report Writing / Computer Management Data Collection General – MS Office Computer Software – Web Design
